In 2007, when about 25 of St. Maria Goretti ex-students convened in Atlanta for a reunion, I never thought I would not only be so involved with this organization but also be presiding. It has been a long journey but it has also been a fulfilling one.
The sisterhood is alive and well and we have generated so much noise regarding the current state of the school. So what resonated with my spirit? The plight of the young women that are currently in the school fighting against all odds to be educated. I have been a part of the scholarship committee since 2013 and have read numerous essays and personal stories that have moved me to tears. I thank God every day for the blessings he has shown me. I do not take this position lightly as this is definitely God’s work. This is bigger than I am.!!!

In 2002, Evelyn Otaigbe (nee Ikuenobe) started an email trail to contact Goretti alumni in Diaspora. The first informal meeting was held in Atlanta, Georgia in 2002 and was attended by Owen Imachukwu (nee Agahahowa), Mediatrix Osayi (nee Idada), Odegua Oboh and Evelyn Otaigbe.
